Cold season has not fully settled in, but I wanted to post a look to prepare for cooler weather. I was inspired by Junya Watanabe's Men's Fall Winter 2011-2012 collection. The look is very young, fresh, with a strong British flavor. (Vouge) Watanabe's choice of deeper colors gave the collection an eerie feel. The color scheme consisted of shades of purple, maroon, forest green, black, indigo, and brown. I'd like to describe the look as preppy with a dark edge. Watanabe took the rugged american look and molded it into subtle dressier attire. The pants were a wide fit, rolled up, and exposed the ankle. My favorite look was the Norwegian patterned outerwear worn over collared button ups.
I am wearing a vintage cotton sweater with a Norwegian type pattern. These types of patterns are in season and can be found in Fall/Winter campaigns for designers such as Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss. Underneath the sweater is a plaid button up. Because of the busy pattern and bright saturation of color in the sweater, I chose to wear the right tone of pants to detract competing attention. The boots are dark purple Doc Martens ("Dark Martians") that added the perfect amount of edge.
